As a full-time Support Worker you will work in collaboration with other team members in providing appropriate support to the five individuals with an intellectual disability who live in the home by:
collaborating with other team members to support the physical, psychological and emotional well being of the person who receives supports;
accompanying individuals to appointments, activities within the community, and other activities outside the home;
responding to each person’s individual needs by respectfully supporting them with daily living skills, personal hygiene, and where needed, administer medication.
encouraging each person to achieve the highest level of independence in personal care and relationships;
assisting each person in appropriate areas as agreed upon by the house team;
ensuring the home is safe, clean and inviting to all.
respecting the schedule and priorities outlined by the House Leader
This position is a 40 hour per week position and will include day, evening and weekend scheduling. The specific days and times will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Minimum of 1-2 years experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities.
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience and passion for supporting individuals with complex behavioural support needs.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Starting Salary $33,000-35,000
